What are Home Modifications?
JEVS Supports for Independence offers Home Assessments and Home Modifications to seniors and individuals with disabilities so they can maintain their independence in their own homes. A Home Modification is an adaptation to a residence that makes a task easier to perform, reduces accidents, and increases comfort, security, and independence for an individual. Major modifications include ramps, chair lifts, stair glides, roll-in showers, and lowered countertops. Minor and less expensive modifications include grab bars, widened doorways, better lighting, hand-held showers, and lever door handles.
