Attendant Care
Attendant Care empowers individuals to maintain their independence at home and remain active in their community with the support of a trusted personal care assistant. Individuals can hire a friend, neighbor, or relative to help them enjoy more comfortable, safe, and secure lives. With the support of our resource department, consumers/employers also have a single solution for all their hiring and human resource needs.
Services
- Personal care assistant(s) scheduled at the consumer's requested days and times
- Personalized care plan and Service Coordinator to provide support in obtaining services
- Assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Meal preparation and assistance with eating
- Light housekeeping, laundry, and errands
- Human Resources support including reference and background checks, payroll and unemployment compensation
- Phone activated time and attendance system to ensure accuracy in recording, reporting, and payment processing
- Round-the-clock customer service
Training Series
JEVS Human Services offers a cutting-edge consumer directed training series consisting of video and written components that covers 11 topics essential to creating an effective relationship between the consumer and his or her attendant.
This training series is FREE for individuals who receive services through Supports for Independence.
Eligibility
- Must be age 18 to 59
- Must be mentally alert
- Must have a physical disability that will last at least one year
- Must reside in Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, Lehigh, Berks, or Northampton County. Services are also available to residents of all other counties in Pennsylvania.

We have dedicated bilingual staff that can assist with the language needs of many individuals. We also have access to intrepreting services. Please call for more information.
Cost
Services are funded by the PA Department of Public Welfare. There is no cost for financially eligible individuals on Medical Assistance or Supplemental Security Income (SSI). Fees are assessed on a sliding scale basis for individuals who do not qualify for free services.
